Burnout is real. Very, very real.

No matter what our profession is, or who we are, or what we do, we often find ourselves trapped in a vicious cycle - a constant state of work, work, work. It could be because we lack something in our lives that we seriously need - financial bonuses and savings, a professional opportunity, etc. It could be because there is this urge of fulfilling a goal - a task for a major project, the major project itself, etc. It could be because of societal expectations and the messages that it imparts. It could be something else entirely.

No matter what that reason could be, the work continues on and on and on. We push ourselves beyond our physical and mental capacity. We neglect our body, our health, our serious need to relax and rejuvenate ourselves. Sometimes, we even neglect our close friends, family, colleagues, and loved ones.

Eventually, a breaking point collapses that cycle. The burnout arrives, and it persists.

This quasi-minimalistic piece is a commentary on the work grind, one which sometimes finds itself spinning and spinning in endless circles without direction. Spikes of energy, often disjointed and erratic, conjure up feelings of frustration and rage, resulting in moments of irregular rhythmic chaos that break up more linear patterns. A timid coda resorts itself to the futility of the work grind, burning out slowly but surely while dreading the moment that the vicious cycle will begin again.
