M.O.T.I.F. - or “Music of the Introspective Fields” - is the name of my self-publishing company! The name itself has a double meaning:

1. My music tends to constantly use the motif - melodic and/or rhythmic building blocks critical to thematic, narrative, and emotional development of compositional ideas.

2. To me, composing always begins from a state of introversion - looking within oneself and asking questions such as “What is my goal with this piece? What do I wish to explore in this work? How do I get there?” and so on. My compositional process begins from this point and is then expressed outwardly - from introversion to extroversion.

I use this approach for EVERY new piece, from its first sketches to the final touches.
